Heads up: site will be down for maintenance this Saturday night

Typical - last time there was maintenance I lost a half-written post about a BEK encounter someone had shared. Genuinely good case too, gone forever because I hadn't copied it anywhere.

Might be worth people saving any threads or links they want to revisit before Saturday, just in case. Browser history only goes so far when the page itself is gone.

Anyone know if the mods are planning any actual changes or is it just the usual backend stuff? Sometimes these maintenance windows come with quiet updates that nobody announces properly and then three weeks later someone notices the search function works differently or a whole subforum got reshuffled.

Not complaining, just... it'd be nice to know what we're coming back to.

@JumpyNomad had that happen to me years back, lost a long post about a roadside MIB encounter I'd written up properly with all the details. Took me the best part of a week to remember everything and type it out again and even then I knew bits were missing.

Notepad before you post. I always draft anything longer than a couple of paragraphs in a plain text file first now, its saved me no end of grief. Old lorry driver habit - always have a backup route.
