Not my area really - I'm more MiB and spirit box stuff - but I did go down a rabbit hole on this last month after seeing a clip someone posted on YouTube. The clustering around the Great Lakes does seem significant when you actually map the reports out. Too many witnesses describing the same upright gait and the size of the thing for it all to be misidentification.
What I'd want to know is whether anyone's cross-referencing these with indigenous accounts from the same regions. Because if theres a consistent oral history pointing to the same creature in the same locations, that changes the conversation completely. Doesn't prove anything obviously but it shifts the weight of it.
Anyone here actually been out there doing fieldwork or is this all secondhand stuff so far?
