Never really been a cryptid person myself - mostly stick to ghosts and the occasional UFO rabbit hole - but this caught my eye because there's an old disused railway line literally five minutes from me in Durham and I've had weird experiences near it.
Nothing Dogman-level dramatic, but my Ghost Meter Pro goes absolutely mental near the old signal box section, and I've caught some odd shapes on my Wyze cam during night sessions that I couldn't explain. Always assumed residual energy from the railway workers or whatever. Now I'm second-guessing myself a bit.
The railroad connection is interesting though. A few theories worth throwing out:
Old lines cut through undisturbed woodland that most people never access, The tracks create long straight corridors - easy movement routes for something large, Electromagnetic fields from old infrastructure? Some researchers link EM hotspots to cryptid activity
Probably coincidence but the clustering of reports is oddly consistent geographically.
Anyone actually got footage near railway locations specifically? I might drag my Reolink trail cam down to the old Durham line this weekend just to see. Worst case I get badger footage and feel silly. Best case... well.
What's the most convincing sighting near a railway you've come across?
