Genuinely curious about this one because I came across a thread on another site a few weeks back that mentioned something similar, and it got me thinking about the old Waverley Line here in Scotland. There are stretches of that old route that are just completely overgrown and isolated now, and I've seen a few odd reports from people walking the path at night.
My question is whether there's something specific about railroad corridors that might attract these sightings or whether its just that the lines run through remote woodland anyway so thats where you'd expect weird stuff to happen regardless. Like is the railroad itself somehow significant or is it just a geography thing?
Has anyone actually plotted the sighting locations against old rail maps? That feels like the kind of data that would either make the pattern obvious or kill it dead pretty quickly.
