Never thought about the railroad connection before but now you've said it I'm going back through everything I've read about dogman cases and yeah, there does seem to be something there. Old disused lines especially.
My mate from Wolverhampton told me years ago about something he saw near an old railway cutting, big upright thing moving along the treeline parallel to the tracks. He didn't know what a dogman was at the time, just said it moved wrong for a person. That was maybe 2003.
I wonder if its something about the corridors these lines create through woodland, like natural pathways that wildlife follows. Or maybe the older theories about ley lines having some overlap with old rail routes. Probably sounds daft but I've heard stranger explanations on here lol.
Anyone got specific locations they can share? Even general areas would help. Would love to start mapping this properly if enough people have reports.
