Not from the Great Lakes area myself (I'm up in Cumbria) but I've been following this pattern with a lot of interest. What strikes me is that the sightings seem to cluster around specific stretches of shoreline rather than being spread out evenly - has anyone actually mapped them properly? I've seen a few rough sketch maps posted in other threads but nothing systematic.
The thing I keep coming back to is whether the increase is genuine or just reporting bias from more people having decent cameras on their mobiles now. Like are we actually seeing more Dogman activity or just capturing more of what was always there?
Also curious if theres a seasonal pattern to it. A lot of the reports I've read seem to be late summer into autumn but I dont know if thats just coincidence or something worth digging into. Anyone been out there doing fieldwork recently or is most of this coming from trail cams?
