Never been to Ohio but this caught my eye because the layout you described - the long corridors, the basement ward - sounds almost identical to an old asylum I visited near Glasgow a few years back. Same kind of dread walking in, like the air itself is heavier somehow.
Anyway, what specifically are people experiencing there? Shadow figures or more like auditory stuff? I ask because I've been reading a lot about how certain stone buildings seem to trap residual energy, and old sanitariums especially seem to have a reputation for it. Whether thats because of what happened in them or just the building materials I genuinely dont know.
