Never been to Ohio myself but I've followed this location for a while, it comes up a lot in urban legend circles. The stuff about the underground tunnels is what gets me - there's apparently a whole network connecting the old wards that explorers have documented but nobody can fully map out. Classic liminal space horror territory.
From what I've read the history is genuinely grim even before you get into the ghost stuff, the patient treatment records that survived are pretty disturbing. Whether that translates into actual paranormal activity or just atmosphere doing its job I'm not sure, but I'd be curious to hear from people who've actually been inside.
Anyone done a proper overnight there or is access locked down these days? And has anyone actually found anything in those tunnels or is it mostly atmosphere and bumps in the dark?
