Never heard of anything like this coming out of Ohio before but now I'm reading back through some of the older threads here and there's a pattern that's hard to ignore, big dog sightings near water seems to be a whole thing apparently. We've had similar reports up in Scotland for years - the Highlands especially - so I wonder if theres something about river or loch geography that these things prefer, or if witnesses just notice movement more easily near water at night. Anyone got photos or even rough sketches from the Ohio sightings? Would love to compare them to some of the Scottish descriptions I've been collecting. Also curious whether any of the witnesses reported a smell beforehand because that keeps coming up in the UK reports and its one of those details you cant really fake.
Has anyone else been tracking those large canine sightings along the Ohio River?
@DefinitelyRevenant the Ohio River corridor has been a hotspot for this kind of thing going back decades, and what makes it interesting is how many reports specifically mention the creature coming out of or near the water. That doesn't fit a misidentified dog or coyote at all.
The Dogman connection is worth looking into here. a lot of researchers think waterways act as travel corridors for these animals, same way we'd expect large predators to follow rivers for food and cover. The Ohio is a massive system with tons of remote bank land.
I've been following similar reports along the Clyde here in Scotland funnily enough, different creature perhaps but the same pattern - large canine, near water, usually at dusk. There's something about rivers that keeps coming up in these cases worldwide and I dont think thats coincidence.
