Spent the evening thinking about how predictable we all are:

- Torch with failing batteries that always dies at the crucial moment
- One friend who's 'very sensitive' and won't go in the basement
- One friend who's absolutely convinced everything is wind
- Spending £300 on equipment and using it twice
- Taking blurry photos and spending four hours analyzing them
-'Did you hear that?' 'That's a pipe, mate'
- Driving two hours to a 'haunted' location that's just a derelict factory
- The old cottage that's genuinely just got settling floorboards and mice
- Finding a 'genuine' EVP recording that sounds like someone having a stroke
- One person getting a bit too into it and buying sage from Holland & Barrett

Anyone else recognize themselves in this? The worst part is I'm definitely guilty of at least 70% of this. What am I missing?

- Spending an entire evening discussing whether the location is 'active' when you basically just heard wind noises
- Someone's torch detecting 'cold spots' (it's detecting nothing, cold spots aren't real)
- Taking dozens of photos of empty rooms hoping one will have an 'orb'
- A collective decision to interpret every coincidence as paranormal

This post is called 'being in Quirk Reports' 😂

Feel personally attacked right now. In my defense though the sage was on sale and I haven't actually used it yet so technically I'm still reasonable.

Missing: the hours spent on forums arguing with skeptics, the app that promised to detect ghosts but is just a random number generator, the decision to investigate somewhere dangerous because 'it's probably fine', and whoever insists they're now 'sensitive' after one paranormal experience.

Also the post-investigation analysis lasting longer than the actual investigation. Three hours at the location, eight hours discussing what you found. And someone's always like 'I got a really clear EVP' and plays you something that's definitely just noise but you nod politely.
