Genuinely terrified - something followed me home from Bodmin Moor

I'm writing this at 2 AM because I can't sleep and my girlfriend thinks I'm being ridiculous but I genuinely feel like something is wrong. I went to Bodmin Moor alone last Saturday (26th October, around 6 PM) to do some landscape photography. Weather was clear, bit cold, still had good light.

I was out there for about two hours, didn't see anything unusual at the time except maybe one or two strangers in the distance. But on the drive back to my flat in Plymouth I started feeling watched. Not paranoid, not tired - genuinely physically watched. The hairs on my neck wouldn't stop standing up. I checked my mirrors probably fifty times and there was nothing there, but the feeling just got worse as I got closer to home.

Got back around 8:45 PM, locked all the doors and windows. Haven't felt proper comfortable in my own flat since. There's this... presence? Sounds mental but something feels different about my bedroom. My cat won't go in there and keeps hissing at the corner near the window. Something followed me back. I can feel it. What do I do?

Bodmin's got a reputation for a reason - the area has proper dark history. Before you panic though, have you checked the usual mundane stuff? New house sounds? Neighbor's new pet? Pipes? Sometimes our brains do weird things when we're spooked and we start seeing patterns. That said, if your cat's genuinely acting strange that's at least interesting to note down.

Don't mean to be harsh but this reads like anxiety spiral territory. You go somewhere creepy, nothing happens, brain backfills 'evidence' of something happening. The watched feeling is real (your nervous system is actually activated) but that doesn't mean something followed you. Have you considered just... staying in your bedroom tonight without the assumption something's there? Might help reset your nervous system.

Get some EMF readings taken in your flat if you're serious about this. If you don't have equipment, contact one of the local paranormal investigation groups - there's a decent one that covers Devon/Cornwall. They can do a proper check and at least rule out electrical issues or high EMF zones that genuinely can make people feel anxious. Don't mess about trying to communicate with it yourself if you're already frightened.

Keep a journal starting tomorrow - write down when you feel the presence, what you're doing, what time, your mood, sleep quality. This'll help you figure out if it's actually tied to location or if it's something else (stress, diet, sleep dep, etc). Bodmin moor entities are usually more curious than malevolent anyway. Give it a week and check back in.

You went to Bodmin Moor deliberately to spook yourself and now you're spooked. Shocking. Go back there in daylight with a mate and you'll feel fine. The brain is incredibly suggestible and Bodmin's got enough folklore that you probably knew creepy stories before you went. Not saying nothing's ever happened there, just saying you might've given yourself a fright for no reason.
