Honestly a bit of a relief - the load times have been noticeably sluggish lately, especially on the longer abduction case threads with a lot of embedded media. Hopefully the new servers sort that out.
Good timing for me personally since I'll be out doing some fieldwork this weekend anyway. Got a location in the South Downs I want to revisit after some odd reports locally. Probably won't be near a screen much.
A couple of questions though:
Will all the archived threads survive the migration intact? Some of the older shadow people case compilations are genuinely irreplaceable, Any chance of attachment/image storage limits being increased on the new infrastructure?
The image hosting situation has been a frustration for a while - I've had to link out to Imgur for a lot of my documentation rather than upload directly, which isn't ideal for long-term preservation of evidence threads.
Anyone else planning to use the downtime productively? Might be a good excuse to finally go through the backlog of MUFON reports I've been meaning to read. Or sleep, possibly.
Anyway, good luck to whoever's doing the technical work on this. These migrations are never as smooth as planned but worth it in the long run. Looking forward to the site feeling a bit snappier on the other side.
