Did the Nazca Lines actually serve as some kind of landing calendar for seasonal events?

Always found the astronomical alignment theory more convincing than the alien stuff tbh. Like some of those lines do track solstices and star positions pretty accurately, so a calendar function makes sense. But "landing" feels like a stretch - landing for what exactly?

What gets me is the sheer scale of it. You wouldn't need lines that massive just to track seasons, you could do that with a couple of standing stones. So either there was a ritual or ceremonial element on top of the practical calendar side, or we're missing something about how they actually used the space.

Anyone here looked into the water table theories? There's some researchers who reckon the lines point toward underground water sources which would tie in with seasonal agriculture planning. That could connect the calendar idea with something more practical and grounded.

What do others think - purely astronomical, or something more multi-purpose?
