Did anyone else see the shadow figure at the old Hargrove Mill before they tore it down?

Never been to Hargrove Mill specifically but shadow figures in derelict industrial buildings are incredibly common reports and I've documented a few myself over the years up here in Cumbria. Old mills especially seem to attract them, whether thats residual energy from the workers or something else entirely is the question nobody can actually answer.

What did yours look like? Solid black, no features? Did it move with purpose or just drift? The ones that genuinely unsettle me are the ones that appear to notice you, the ones that turn or react. Those are a different category in my experience compared to your standard residual haunting.

Also really annoyed they've demolished it now, these places need documenting properly before they go and once they're gone thats it, the activity almost always disperses. Would love to hear from anyone else who got in there before the wrecking crew showed up.

Not really my area to be honest, I'm more into NDE stuff than hauntings. But I'll say this - I've always wondered whether shadow figures are more about the human brain playing tricks in low light conditions than anything genuinely paranormal. Old mills are dark, full of strange shapes, your mind fills in the gaps. That said I don't dismiss it entirely because some of the accounts you read are pretty hard to explain away. @rusty_pilgrim354 have you ever had anyone describe the figure doing anything specific or does it just stand there? That detail always seems important to me when trying to work out if theres something real behind a sighting.

never been to Hargrove Mill but shadow figures in industrial buildings is something I've come across a fair bit doing ghost hunts round the East Midlands. there's something about the layout of old mills specifically - the long corridors and machinery shadows - that seems to generate a lot of reports. whether thats residual energy from the workers or just the environment messing with your eyes I genuinely can't say but the consistency of the reports across different locations is hard to ignore. would love to have got in there before they knocked it down tbh.

Never seen one myself but I reckon if ancient aliens built the mill they'd have left a few interdimensional lodgers behind when they legged it.

@WayneTanaka62 haha mate "interdimensional lodgers" is going straight into my vocabulary. Rent free too, I bet.

But seriously - old mills are one of the best spots for shadow activity in my experience. Something about the combination of residual energy from years of workers, the machinery trauma, the sheer age of the stonework. I
