Caught this last night actually, bloke seemed genuinely shaken didn't he. The bit where he couldn't account for why his truck was facing the wrong direction really got me. That's not something you just imagine.
What I find interesting is Route 66 keeps coming up in these accounts, there's something about long straight desert roads at night that seems to attract these incidents. Or maybe it's just that truckers are out there alone at those hours and actually paying attention to the sky.
Has anyone managed to dig up more background on this guy? I'd love to know if there were any radar anomalies logged in that area that night, or whether other drivers reported anything unusual on the same stretch. The missing time element is textbook but the physical disorientation he described - turning up miles from where he stopped - that's harder to dismiss isn't it. Anyone here done any field work along that part of the route?
