Did anyone else see a large black cat near the Shawnee National Forest last summer?

Interesting thread this. I'm up in Sheffield so a bit far from Shawnee but we get reports of big black cats fairly regularly over here in the Peak District and it always follows the same pattern - someone sees something large, dark, moves like a cat, and then gets dismissed straight away.

The thing that strikes me about a lot of these North American sightings is how similar the descriptions are to what people report in the UK. Low to the ground, long tail, not moving like a dog at all. That's not nothing.

What I'd want to know is whether anyone managed to get any photos or found prints afterwards. Thats usually where the interesting stuff is. Track measurements can tell you a lot more than a fleeting visual. Anyone in this thread actually been back to the area to look properly?

Genuine question @ShropshireHeron - do the Peak District sightings ever come with any physical evidence, or is it always purely visual? Because the Shawnee stuff I've been reading about seems unusually light on prints or kills, which either means the witnesses are unreliable or whatever they're seeing is very good at not leaving a trace. Both possibilities are honestly kind of unsettling if you think about it long enough.
