Never been near the Blue Ridge Parkway myself, being a Glaswegian and all, but big black cats turning up in random places is basically a global sport at this point isn't it. We've got the Beast of Exmoor, the Beast of Bodmin, half of Scotland's apparently crawling with the things according to my uncle. Nobody ever gets a decent photo though, always just a blurry blob that could be a bin bag in a field. What did it look like, was it genuinely massive or more "that's a big domestic cat and I've had a few pints" sized? Genuinely curious because the sheer number of sightings worldwide makes me think something's actually out there, even a skeptic like me has to admit the volume of reports is hard to just wave away completely.
Did anyone else see a large black cat near the Blue Ridge Parkway last weekend?
Funny you mention that @HauntedWarwickshire - being in Warwickshire myself I've heard a fair few stories about big cats in the Midlands over the years. Never seen one personally but a bloke I know swears he saw something massive and black cross the road near Kenilworth about five years back. Bigger than any dog he'd ever seen apparently. These reports do seem to crop up everywhere don't they, whether its Virginia or Somerset or wherever. Would be good to hear more detail from the OP about what exactly they saw near the Parkway - size, how it moved, that sort of thing. That's usually where you can start separating the genuine oddities from misidentifications.
