Not my area of expertise normally but big cat sightings in the Marches have been documented pretty consistently since at least the 80s. The Shropshire/Welsh border corridor gets reported more than people realise, it just doesn't make national news because editors think it sounds ridiculous.
What exactly did you see? Rough size comparison, gait, tail length relative to body - those are the details that actually matter. A lot of misidentifications come down to scale being misjudged at distance, especially at dusk. But there's also a handful of sightings from that area that don't have an obvious mundane explanation.
I've been cataloguing UK big cat reports for a couple of years now as a side project and Shropshire comes up enough that I've got a decent file on it. If your sighting matches the location pattern I'm seeing it would be worth documenting properly rather than just posting here and forgetting about it.
Anyone else in the thread actually local to the area? Eyewitness accounts from people who know the terrain well are way more useful than armchair analysis.
