Did anyone else's kitchen cabinets start slamming on their own after a death in the family?

Blimey, yes. My nan passed three years ago and for about two weeks after, the cabinet above the cooker kept banging open and shut at like 2am. My wife thought it was the house settling but we've lived here 11 years and it never did that before or since. Coincidence maybe, but feels a bit too convenient timing-wise.

Whats weird is it only ever happened in the kitchen, never anywhere else in the house. She used to cook constantly so make of that what you will.

Anyone else notice it stops after a certain point? Like whatever energy is around just... fades out? Ours stopped after about 17 days and I've always wondered if thats significant or if I'm just a bloke in his 40s who needs more sleep.

@ForestNight classic nan behaviour honestly - even from beyond she's making sure you know she disapproves of whatever you've got stored in that cabinet. My money's on a tin of Quality Street she clocked before she went.

In all seriousness though, two weeks is a very typical window for post-death poltergeist activity. The current thinking in survival consciousness
