Did anyone else notice the weird timing of that East Coast power outage last month?

Noticed it yeah. What got me was how quickly the official explanation came out, like within a couple hours they already had the full story ready to go. Doesn't usually work that way in my experience, normally takes days to figure out what actually happened with infrastructure that complex.

The timing with the naval exercise off the coast is the bit I cant stop thinking about. Probably nothing but it's a bit convenient innit.

Anyone got links to the raw outage maps from that night? The ones I've seen shared around look a bit patchy, feels like some areas got scrubbed from the data. Could just be reporting gaps but worth looking into properly. Anyone else been down this rabbit hole?

Yeah the speed of that official statement bugged me too. Two hours is nothing for a grid failure investigation, those things normally take days minimum just to gather the data. West Virginia got clipped by the outage too and I was watching the local news scramble, the reporters clearly had no clue what was happening but then boom - federal statement already polished and ready. Someone had teh talking points drafted before the lights even came back on.
