Did anyone else notice the blackout zones on Google Earth match old Cold War underground base maps?

never really looked into this properly but now i cant stop. spent about an hour last night comparing one of the old declassified FEMA bunker maps someone posted on reddit a while back against the blurred zones on google earth and honestly some of it lines up better than it should.

theres a few spots in scotland that caught my eye too, closer to home so it felt more real if that makes sense.

not saying its proof of anything but the fact that some of these blackout zones havent been updated in years is a bit odd. commercial satellite stuff should have covered most of these areas by now. why are they still dark?

anyone else been doing comparisons? would be good to pool what people have found, especially if anyones got access to older versions through the wayback machine or whatever. im dead curious if the zones have shifted over time or stayed the same.
