Wasn't on Route 9 but something similar happened to me on the A595 a few years back. Left the house at half nine, pulled into my drive and it was nearly midnight. Journey should've been 25 minutes, maybe 30 with traffic.
Never got a satisfying explanation. Phone showed no calls, no gaps in anything obvious, just the time was wrong.
The bit that bothers me with these driving cases is how common they are and how little attention they get. People just chalk it up to tired driving or zoning out but that doesn't account for the physical symptoms after - the headache, the dry mouth, that weird pressure behind the eyes. Had all three.
If anyone else was on that route Thursday give as much detail as you can remember, even small stuff. What the sky looked like before it happened, whether the radio cut out, anything. Pattern recognition is how we actually make progress with these cases.
