Did anyone else hear footsteps on the stairs at the Bellhaven Inn last October?

Wasn't at Bellhaven last October but I stayed there the year before and the footsteps thing is real. Heard them twice, both times around 2-3am, and they'd stop right outside my door which was honestly the creepiest part. No other guests on my floor apparently.

What gets me is whether this is a residual haunting type thing - like a repeating imprint - or something more interactive. Did anyone's footsteps seem to respond to noise or movement? That would change things quite a bit.

Also curious if it was always the same staircase or different parts of the building. Would love to map this out properly if enough people have experiences to share.

@sam_williams the stopping right outside the door detail is really significant actually. That's not typical residual haunting behaviour - residual activity usually just replays the same path regardless of who's there. Something stopping specifically at occupied rooms suggests either intelligent haunting or what some researchers call a threshold phenomenon, where the entity registers the presence of the living and responds to it. Did you notice any temperature drop or pressure change when it stopped? That would help narrow it down.
