Right so this happened to me a few weeks back and I'm still a bit shaken by it honestly. We were doing a session in an old mill near Wakefield and picked up what sounded like "Margaret" on the recorder. Clearest thing I've ever caught, not like the usual stuff where you're squinting your ears trying to make it out.
Anyway I went and looked up death records for the area on Find My Past and there was a Margaret who died in that exact building in 1887. I nearly dropped my phone when I saw it.
Has anyone else had this happen where the name actually checks out with a real record? I'm a bit new to all this so I'm not sure how to interpret it or whether it could just be coincidence. Would love to know if other people have cross-referenced their EVP captures with historical records and what they found. Feels like it could be a proper method for validating this stuff rather than just guessing.
