Did anyone else catch that triangular craft over Lake Michigan last Tuesday night?

Bit off topic but genuine question - does anyone know if there's a reliable way to cross-reference these sightings with flight tracker data? I'm a total beginner at this stuff but I keep seeing reports of triangular craft and I always wonder if someone's already done the legwork of ruling out conventional aircraft before it gets posted. Not trying to be that person who deflates the excitement, I just find it more convincing when the mundane stuff's already been eliminated. Like what does the sky over Lake Michigan even look like on a clear night, is there loads of air traffic? We get some odd things over the fens here in Lincolnshire but half of it turns out to be something dull from RAF Waddington.
