Can we please have a "Media Nonsense" sticky thread?

Every time a newspaper publishes something paranormal-related, we get six new threads in "Sightings & Reports" and "Mystery Animals" going absolutely mental about journalistic integrity and sensationalism.

It's valid frustration - the media is often terrible at covering this stuff - but it's repetitive and it clutters the forums. Could the mods pin a single sticky thread in each major forum where people can discuss media coverage collectively instead of fragmenting it into dozens of threads?

Bonus feature: we could compile media claims and fact-check them as a community. That would actually be useful rather than just venting.

Good idea in principle, but sticky threads die quickly. No one reads them after a few weeks and people just make new threads anyway. Would need active moderation to enforce it.

That said, there definitely is a problem with media thread spam. Maybe instead of a sticky, have a rule: "Media discussion posts must go in [new forum]" and create a dedicated space for it.

I actually like the separate threads because sometimes you want to discuss the specific subject (e.g., Bodmin Panther) rather than 'media bad.' But I take the point about duplication. Could do with better tags or a filter option in the interface though.

As a mod, we've been discussing something similar. The problem is enforcement without looking like we're censoring discussion. We'll look into a dedicated forum section though. Good feedback.

This is actually one of the better suggestions I've seen. The 'media nonsense' frustration is valid but the spam is real. A structured place to discuss it would be better than random rants scattered across the board.
