Right lads, I'm organising a proper investigation at Borley Rectory on the 21st December. We've hired thermal imaging equipment and I've got a mate who's an actual electrician (so we won't accidentally burn the place down). The winter solstice is supposedly when the veil is thinnest, innit.

I know the rectory itself is long gone, but the grounds are still absolutely rammed with paranormal activity according to the locals. Last time I went there in summer I got the most violent cold spot near the old rose garden - my thermometer literally dropped 8 degrees in about a metre.

Looking for 4-6 serious investigators. Must have your own torch and some basic kit. We're meeting at the Crown Inn in Long Melford at 6pm and heading to the site around 8pm. Cost is £15 for parking and site access. Any takers?

I'm keen but a bit worried about trespassing. Is the land actually accessible now or are we doing this properly with the landowner's permission? Last thing I need is a caution from Essex Police on my record.

Count me in mate! I've got a FLIR camera and a decent digital recorder. Just finished a course on EVP technique so I'm proper buzzing to try it out. Do we need to bring anything specific or are you sorting the main equipment?

Honestly I think this is bollocks but I'll come along because Borley is genuinely fascinating from a historical perspective. Even if nothing supernatural happens, the building's history is brilliant. Just don't ask me to communicate with any ghosts yeah? 😅

I'd love to but winter solstice is peak family time for me. Have you thought about doing a summer solstice investigation instead? I reckon the energy would be just as strong and the weather would be better for proper night work.

Mate, you should check with the current owners first. I looked into this a few years ago and apparently they've had groups trespassing at night and they're not happy about it. Might be worth ringing ahead - most landowners are actually quite interested in the paranormal stuff if you approach them properly.
