Borley Rectory updates - recent paranormal activity in the ruins?

I finally made the trip out to Borley in Essex last month and I have to say, the atmosphere there is absolutely mental. Even just standing in the field where the rectory used to be, you get this overwhelming sense of dread. The hairs on my arms were standing on end the whole time, and I'm not particularly sensitive to these things.

Has anyone been recently? I'm curious if activity has picked up since the restoration project started. I read that some of the foundations were being excavated and apparently they found some quite disturbing items - though the article was a bit vague about it.

I'm planning another visit with proper equipment (thermal camera, EMF meter, the works) but I want to know if anyone's got recent intel first.

I was there in May and honestly didn't experience anything unusual. Bit atmospheric, yeah, but that could just be the history and suggestion doing the work on your brain. The rectory's been demolished for decades - not sure how much paranormal imprint would remain unless it's incredibly strong.

The thing about Borley is that everyone goes there expecting something dramatic because of the legend. Harry Price hyped it all up for publicity - not saying nothing happened, but he definitely sensationalised it. That said, the spot does give off odd vibes. I'd be curious about your thermal results.

The excavation finds were mostly Victorian rubbish and animal bones I think. Pretty disappointing if you were hoping for occult artefacts. But yeah, go with equipment. If anywhere in the UK is worth investigating properly it's probably Borley.

How much did you pay to visit? Last I heard they charge now? Worth it?
