Borley Rectory: has anyone visited the actual site recently?

Bit of a long shot, but I'm planning a road trip through Essex next month and I'm wondering if anyone's been to the Borley Rectory location recently. I know the original building burnt down in 1939, obviously, but I'm curious what the current state of the grounds is.

For context: Harry Price's investigation in the 1930s is basically the gold standard for haunted house documentation in Britain, right? Footsteps, poltergeist activity, mysterious writing on walls - the whole package. But I've never actually seen clear photos of what's there now. Is there a memorial? Ruins? Just a field?

I'm also keen to know if anyone's done night-time investigations there. Seems like it would be either absolutely mad or utterly pointless - hard to tell which. Any experiences would be brilliant to hear about.

Visited it about three years back. It's essentially just a patch of farmland now - very ordinary, bit disappointing to be honest. There's a small wooden sign if you know where to look, but nothing official. The current landowner isn't particularly keen on ghost hunters tramping about, and I can't blame them. It's just grass and some old brick foundations poking out.

That said, I did feel a bit odd standing on the actual spot where all the phenomena supposedly occurred. Could've been psychological, could've been something else. The locals in the village shop knew all about it though - they were friendly enough.

Price's investigations are actually heavily disputed these days. Recent scholarship suggests a lot of his "evidence" was either misinterpreted or outright fabricated to boost book sales. The nun's ghost that everyone bangs on about? Probably made up. Just a heads up before you make the trip expecting Poltergeist-level activity.

I'm planning to go next spring actually! If you coordinate dates we could make a proper night of it. I've got EMF meters and thermal imaging equipment - nothing fancy, but decent enough. The farmer might not like it, but if we're discreet... Fair warning though: Price's reputation has taken a battering in academic circles. Doesn't mean nothing happened, just means we should keep our expectations realistic.

One of the best haunted house accounts we have in Britain, and everyone wants to debunk it now. Classic. Just because Price might've embellished things doesn't mean the rectory wasn't genuinely haunted. The accounts predate him by decades. Go and have a proper look - your instincts will tell you more than any sceptic's argument.
