Right, I've got a 45-minute commute each way and I'm bored out of my skull with the usual true crime stuff. Looking for a proper paranormal podcast - something well-researched but not too dry, entertaining but not taking the piss out of the subject matter.

I've tried a few and most of them are either:
1. Two mates talking nonsense with zero actual research
2. Completely serious academic analysis that puts me to sleep
3. Some American podcast about Skinwalker Ranch for the 500th time

What's your go-to? Preferably something with British presenters who know what they're talking about, but I'm open to international stuff if it's good. And please don't recommend the super famous ones - looking for lesser-known gems.

'Our Fake History' is brilliant. Host is Canadian but it's meticulous work - he looks into paranormal legends and traces how they developed. Not just 'here's a ghost story' but 'where did this actually come from?' Absolute gold for commuting.

There's a British podcast called 'Haunted Histories' (not the American one). Two historians who actually know their stuff, go to the locations, research properly. Only about 30-40 episodes so you won't be listening forever, but quality over quantity innit.

Fair, but honestly I'd recommend 'The Cabinet of Curiosities' - it's academic but it's got personality. The host is genuinely interested and it shows. Not boring at all.

'Lore' by Aaron Mahnke - US-based but covers folklore from everywhere including UK. Each episode is tight (20-30 mins), well-researched, fascinating. Perfect podcast length for a commute actually.

Honestly? Make your own listening experience. Find a Spotify playlist of paranormal documentaries, listen to books on Audible about specific cases. Podcasts are hit-and-miss but a well-researched book will genuinely teach you something.
