Right, I'm planning an investigation in one of the abandoned Tube stations (not saying which one in public, obviously). I've done a fair bit of surface-level ghost hunting but going underground is a whole different ballgame. Need proper kit and proper advice.

Currently I've got:

- Decent digital camera (Canon 600D, cost me £200 second-hand)
- EMF meter (basic model from eBay, about £40)
- Dictaphone for EVP recording
- Two torches and spare batteries

What I'm missing: thermal imaging (too expensive), proper protective equipment, maybe a better EMF reader? And honestly, I need advice on safe practices. These tunnels flood sometimes, they're unstable in places, and it's technically illegal. But I reckon with proper planning and a small team it's doable.

What equipment would you recommend? And please, serious replies only - I don't need the lecture about breaking the law, I'm aware.

Before you buy more kit, honestly invest in proper safety gear first. A head torch with backup battery, sturdy boots, a basic respirator (the air in those tunnels can be nasty), and please get a mate to come with you. Tell someone where you're going. If something happens, you need backup.

The EMF meter you've got is probably fine for initial reads, but if you're serious about this I'd recommend the K2 meter (about £60-80). Better sensitivity and you get audible feedback which helps in low light. For thermal, honestly don't bother yet - save up or rent one professionally rather than getting a cheap knockoff.

Yeah mate, I'm gonna be that person: please contact the proper historical societies and tour groups. There are legitimate ways to access abandoned Tube stations now. Much safer, better documentation, and you're not breaking the law. You'll get better evidence that way because you won't be stressed about getting caught.

Get a 4G signal booster or satellite communicator. If your mobile dies down there you're in trouble. And please use a secondary recording device - have a backup dictaphone or voice memo app on your phone. I've lost amazing EVP evidence to dead batteries before.

Skip the fancy kit, honestly. I've had better results with just a good camera and genuine curiosity than people with thousands of pounds of equipment. The spirits (or whatever they are) don't care about your K2 meter. Focus on patience and observation.
