BBC News just called us 'conspiracy enthusiasts' and I've never been more offended

Right, so I was watching the news this morning and they had a segment about UFO sightings in the Cotswolds. Fair enough, decent coverage, but then the presenter - absolute muppet - refers to people investigating these phenomena as 'conspiracy enthusiasts with too much time on their hands.'

Too much time on our hands?! I'll have you know I balance my paranormal research with a full-time job, a mortgage, and a cat that demands feeding at 6am. We're not all sitting in our mums' basements wearing tinfoil hats.

Anyway, what's everyone else's favourite bit of media condescension we've experienced? I want to compile a greatest hits.

The one that gets me is when documentaries film paranormal investigators and always - always - cut to b-roll of them looking 'confused' or 'spooked.' Meanwhile they're just having a normal conversation about electromagnetic readings and suddenly it looks like they've seen a ghost.

Mate, I've got three kids under 10. When would I have time for conspiracy theories? I barely have time for a cuppa before someone needs their PE kit washed.

The Guardian called us 'credulous' last month. CREDULOUS. As if wanting evidence and asking questions makes us gullible instead of, you know, scientific.

This is why I love this community though. We know what we're about. Half the nation watches Love Island without questioning the authenticity, but ask one sensible question about Rendlesham Forest and suddenly you're mad.
