BBC News covered the Skinwalker Ranch findings and completely missed the point

Did anyone watch the BBC piece on Skinwalker Ranch that aired Tuesday evening? They finally covered some of the recent findings and - honestly - it was a bit disappointing.

The whole segment was framed around 'is it real or just folklore?' like those are the only two options, completely ignoring the documented electromagnetic anomalies, the geological surveys, the actual scientific data that's been collected. Instead they spent half the time talking to a skeptical physicist who's never been there, and the other half to a Native American spiritual leader, as if it's just a cultural belief thing rather than an active investigation site.

What frustrated me was there's genuinely interesting stuff happening there - unusual animal behavior patterns, equipment failures, photographic evidence - but none of that made it into the broadcast. Just 'is it spooky or not spooky?' like we're five years old.

Has anyone actually been to Skinwalker Ranch? I'm thinking about planning a trip next year and would love to hear from people with firsthand experience rather than relying on media coverage.

I went in 2019 with a small investigation group. The activity level was genuinely higher than anywhere else I've been - equipment failures, weird electromagnetic readings, we got some unusual audio recordings. But here's the thing: you need proper scientific methodology to investigate it, which the media will never show because it's not dramatic enough.

The BBC thing annoyed me too. They had an opportunity to discuss actual paranormal investigation methodology and instead made it into a 'spooky story' segment. We're never going to get proper media coverage of this stuff until journalists actually bother to understand the science behind investigation.

If you do go, make sure you get proper permission from the ranch owners, bring redundant equipment (stuff will break), and document everything obsessively. The ranch wants serious investigators, not ghost hunters looking for a spectacle.

This exactly. It's such lazy journalism. There are legitimate questions about what's happening there, but you need to actually investigate them rather than just asking two people with opposite opinions.
