Interesting timing on this thread. I'm over in Somerset so obviously not local to the Ozarks, but I've been following reports on this thing for a couple of years now and there does seem to be a noticeable uptick in sightings logged since around autumn last year.
What I find hard to pin down is whether that's actual increased activity or just the usual thing where one high-profile report gets shared around and suddenly everyone starts "seeing" it. Same thing happens with crop circles over here, honestly. One formation gets press coverage and then reports flood in from three counties in a week.
That said, the acoustic descriptions are what keep me interested. Several witnesses independently describing that low resonant howl with what sounds like a throat-singing quality to it - thats not the kind of detail people typically make up or copy from each other.
Anyone got links to the more recent reports? Particularly anything with audio or decent witness statements rather than just "I saw a big black thing in the woods".
