Honestly thought I was imagining it for the first couple years but after keeping a log the correlation is pretty hard to ignore. Full moon periods I'm getting cabinet doors, the usual scratching from the corner of the living room, and my dog loses his mind at nothing. New moon is almost completely quiet by comparison.
What gets me is why though. Is it gravitational pull affecting whatever energy underpins this stuff? There's research on geomagnetic activity tracking with lunar cycles and I wonder if that's the mechanism rather than the moon itself being "special" in some mystical sense.
Has anyone actually done a proper documented log over 12 months or more? Anecdote is one thing but I'd love to see if the pattern holds across different locations and different types of activity. Could be worth compiling something as a community project if enough people here have consistent records.
