My cat does this exact thing at the top of the stairs and honestly its become my personal 3am alarm clock at this point.
What gets me is the consistency - same spot, same time, every single night. Animals don't do that randomly. There's something about that frequency, like whether its electromagnetic or something else entirely, that they're picking up on that we just can't. Cats and dogs have sensory ranges we genuinely don't fully understand yet.
I've started leaving a camera running on that spot overnight. Haven't caught anything visual yet but the audio spikes are interesting, there's a low hum that shows up right around the same time she starts losing her mind.
Anyone else tried recording and actually getting something back? Would love to compare notes because Whitby is already a weird enough place to live without my cat adding to the atmosphere.
