My dog Stanley goes absolutely mental about 10 to 15 minutes before anything happens. Pacing, whining, won't settle, keeps staring at the corner of the dining room where most of the activity seems to centre itself. First few times I thought he just needed the garden, but the pattern became too consistent to ignore.
What gets me is the timing. It's not random. It's always that same window beforehand, like he's picking up on some kind of preliminary signal or frequency shift that we simply can't detect with our own senses. Animals have sensory ranges way beyond ours and I genuinely think this is documented behaviour linked to infrasound possibly, or electromagnetic fluctuations in the environment.
Anyone else tracking this properly? I've started keeping a log with timestamps now, noting Stanley's behaviour against when objects actually move or sounds occur. If enough of us did this systematically we might actually build something useful rather than just anecdotes. Would love to compare notes with anyone whose seen similar patterns with cats especially, as I've read they respond differently to this sort of thing.
