This is something I've been reading about for years and it keeps cropping up more than people realise. Had a neighbour in Leeds back in the 90s who had the exact same thing, kitchen cabinets and a wardrobe door upstairs, always between 2am and 4am. She eventually had the house looked at by a local medium who picked up on a presence near the staircase, not the kitchen at all, which is interesting isn't it.
What I always want to know in these cases is whether there's any pattern to when it happens. Same time each night? After any particular event in the household, an argument, a bereavement, something like that? Poltergeist activity in my experience tends to cluster around emotional disturbance rather than just appearing randomly.
Also worth asking - has anyone else in the house witnessed it or is it always just you? That rules out sleep confusion fairly quickly. Would love to hear more details from anyone this is happening to right now.
