Anyone else's kitchen cabinets randomly flying open at 3am or is it just my house?

Had something similar in my old place in Portland. Cabinets, drawers, the lot. Always between 2 and 4am. We ruled out the obvious stuff first - temperature swings can cause wood to expand and pop latches, and old magnetic catches get weak over time.

But ours kept happening even after we replaced all the hardware. What got me was that it was always the same two cabinets, never the others. That pattern is what made me think it wasnt just a mechanical thing.

Did you try noting down the dates and times? Sometimes theres a pattern tied to lunar cycles or even just certain weather conditions. I started keeping a log and it helped a lot when I tried to figure out what was actually going on.

Worth also asking neighbours if they've noticed anything odd, or checking if there was previous activity in the house before you moved in. Anyone else on here dealt with persistent cabinet activity specifically?

@BolshyFox the 3am thing is wild isn't it, I've read loads about how that specific window is supposed to be when the veil between whatever and here is thinnest. Whether you believe that or not the timing does seem to crop up too often to be coincidence. Did you ever feel anything in the room at the time, like a drop in temperature or just a general weird vibe? I'm in Cumbria and had a drawer slide open on its own once, totally different situation probably, but the hairs on my neck stood right up.
