Anyone else's kitchen cabinets opening on their own at night?

Genuinely curious what time of night this is happening and whether you've ruled out temperature changes first. Old wood cabinets expand and contract a fair bit, especially in older houses, and a latch that's slightly off can pop open when the wood shifts. Worth ruling that out before jumping to poltergeist.

That said - if its happening at consistent times or with multiple cabinets simultaneously, that does change the picture somewhat. In my experience looking into these cases the clustering of activity around specific hours keeps coming up, and nobody's ever given me a satisfying physical explanation for why 3am seems to be such a busy time for this sort of thing.

Have you tried setting up a camera? Not to debunk it, just to get better data. What does the rest of the household make of it?
