Funnily enough I've not had the cabinets but my bathroom door has been swinging open on its own for about three weeks now. No draught I can find, checked the hinges twice. What gets me is it only happens between about 11pm and 2am, never during the day.

I know a lot of people will say it's thermal expansion or air pressure differences but honestly the consistency of it is what makes me doubt that explanation. Random physical causes tend to produce random results, not the same window of time every night.

Anyone keeping a proper log of when the incidents happen? That's genuinely useful data. If multiple people are seeing activity concentrated in particular time windows that tells us something interesting. Would be worth pooling that information rather than just swapping anecdotes.

@NottinghamshireOtter three weeks of a bathroom door swinging open and your first thought is poltergeist, not "maybe I should fix the hinge properly this time"? Respect honestly.

That said, the timing thing is interesting. If it's only doing it at specific times of day that rules out a lot of the mundane thermal expansion stuff people
