Anyone else's dog absolutely losing it at 3am lately?

Right, this might sound daft but I'm genuinely curious if it's just me. My border collie has been waking up absolutely frantic - barking, scratching at the bedroom door, the works - at almost exactly 3 in the morning for the past six weeks. It's not foxes, I've checked. The garden's secure, nothing visibly wrong with him at the vet's. But it happens like clockwork.

My mum mentioned the "witching hour" nonsense but that's half three/4am traditionally, innit? Still, it's creepy enough that I've started sleeping with the bedroom light on. Anyone else's pets been acting strange recently? Particularly around that time?

I'm in Greater Manchester if location matters at all.

My cat's been doing something similar but more sporadic - she'll just stare at the corner of my living room for ages. Usually around 2-4am. No explanation for it. I've had people suggest it's just animal stuff but the intensity of it is different from normal jumpy behaviour.

Dogs are incredibly sensitive to electromagnetic fields and infrasound. Could be a nearby power line affecting him, or even atmospheric conditions. Nothing spooky about it - just science. Though I'd definitely get him checked by the vet to rule out seizures or neurological issues first.

Right this is going to sound mad but check your smart meter. Honestly. A mate of mine's collie was doing exactly this and they switched off their smart meter and it stopped within days. Something about the frequency. You can actually request them to turn it off without penalty.

3am is peak activity for loads of paranormal cases across northern England. Genuinely. Not trying to freak you out but the consistency is notable. Have you noticed anything else odd in the house?
