Anyone else noticed how many microwave towers went up overnight in their town last month?

Noticed three new ones went up near Clifton over about a fortnight, not overnight but close enough. The speed of it was what caught my attention more than anything. Usually you'd see planning notices, temporary fencing, the whole drawn out council process. None of that this time, or at least nothing visible to residents.

Now I'm not saying I know what they're for. Could be the 5G rollout they've been talking about, could be something else entirely. What I find odd is the placement. Two of them are positioned in a triangle pattern around a residential area with a lot of elderly residents. Maybe nothing, maybe coincidence.

Has anyone tried cross-referencing the locations with planning applications on their local council site? Worth doing before jumping to conclusions either way. I spent a couple evenings on Bristol City Council's portal last week and found one application but not the other two. That gap in the paperwork is what actually bothers me most.

@UnearthlyWhitby the planning notice thing is what gets me too. There's supposed to be a consultation period isn't there, at least that's how I understood it? We had two go up on the outskirts of Inverness and I genuinely cannot find any record of planning applications for either of them. Tried the council website and got nowhere. Do you know if anyone has done a FOI request on this kind of thing? Because that feels like the logical next step to me and I'd love to know if the information actually comes back or just gets stonewalled.
