Mate I thought I was losing the plot but yeah, something definitely feels different on full moon nights when I'm out with my recorder. Can't say if it's actually cleaner audio or if I'm just more hyped up and listening harder, but the results I get feel more... substantial? Hard to explain without sounding like a complete nutter.
Tried doing a proper comparison last year, same location, same gear, new moon vs full moon, and the full moon session had way more hits. Could be coincidence, I've only been doing this about two years so my sample size is tiny.
Anyone got a theory on why this might be a thing? Is it electromagnetic stuff, tidal forces on the atmosphere, or are we all just more open to it psychologically when theres a big glowing moon overhead making us feel mystical? Genuinely curious if anyone has done this more rigorously than I have.
