Didn't see it personally - I'm in West Virginia so wrong state obviously - but a mate sent me a screenshot from his Ring camera that same night showing something similar. Three distinct light points, slow-moving, no sound according to him.
Here's what I'm trying to figure out though: does anyone know if the FAA's ASDI feed was showing anything unusual over that corridor around that time? I've been messing around with FlightAware and Flightradar24 for cross-referencing sightings but neither gives you the full picture on restricted or unregistered craft.
Also - was the formation rotating or maintaining a fixed triangular shape? That's actually a decent filter for separating drone swarms from single rigid craft. My trail cam footage from Bigfoot research (Browning Strike Force HD) has accidentally caught some weird aerial stuff over the Appalachians and the rotating vs. fixed distinction has come up before.
Anyone get actual video rather than stills?
Raw footage would help a lot here. Even shaky phone video tells you more than a screenshot because you can pull frame data and check for compression artefacts that sometimes indicate doctored images. Handbrake can strip the metadata if someone's worried about privacy before sharing.
What was the approximate altitude estimate? Phoenix has pretty predictable atmospheric conditions so a decent angular size measurement against known landmarks might give us something to work with.
