Anyone else notice the weird triangle lights over Phoenix last Thursday night?

Didn't see it myself as I'm over in Suffolk, but my mate who moved to Arizona a few years back sent me a voice note about something weird he saw Thursday. He wasn't specific about shape but kept saying the lights weren't moving like any aircraft he'd seen. Said they just sort of held position for a while then went.

Was it definitely a triangle formation or more like a loose cluster? Trying to figure out if what he saw matches what you're describing. He's not really into this stuff so he wasn't paying close attention, which is frustrating. Did anyone get footage or was it one of those blink-and-you-miss-it situations?

@DuskForest570 your mate needs to get some video next time! Even a shaky phone clip is better than nothing for trying to work out what people are actually seeing over Phoenix.

That area has a long history with this sort of thing going back to the 97 lights event. Worth asking him if the lights moved independently or stayed in a fixed formation, thats usually the key question with triangle sightings - whether its one object or separate craft flying in pattern.
