Saw this and had the same reaction tbh. TFRs over that area aren't exactly rare but the timing on this one stood out - it went up with basically no notice and the stated reason was vague even by their usual standards.
I've been following restricted airspace notices for a few years now, started after the Skinwalker stuff got me down that rabbit hole. Most of the time theres a boring explanation, military exercise, VIP movement, whatever. But occasionally you get ones where nothing lines up with what they're claiming and this feels like one of those.
Anyone managed to cross reference it with any unusual ground activity reports from locals in the area? That's usually where the interesting stuff comes out, not the official notices themselves. The restriction is just the flag, what was actually happening underneath it is the question worth asking.
