Been thinking about this a lot lately. The pattern is hard to ignore once you start looking - people who blow the whistle on dodgy contracts, suddenly they're gone and it gets ruled self-inflicted with barely any investigation.
The Gary Webb case is the one that always gets me. Two gunshot wounds to the head, ruled suicide. Two. Nobody's questioning that officially?
I think what bothers me most is how quickly the story disappears afterwards. Like the exposure itself gets buried along with the person. You'd expect the opposite if it was a genuine suicide, the story should carry on without them.
Anyone else been down this rabbit hole? Curious if there are cases people know about that didn't get much coverage outside the states, cos I feel like we don't hear much about UK equivalents even though I'd be shocked if it doesn't happen here too.
