Anyone else notice how every major blackout in the last decade happened right before a big political announcement?

I'll be honest - this one doesn't sit right with me, and I say that as someone who spends a fair amount of time chasing genuinely strange phenomena.

I've looked into power grid failures fairly seriously because there's a long-standing connection between electromagnetic anomalies and paranormal activity. What I've found is that most major blackouts trace back to pretty mundane culprits - aging infrastructure, cascading failures, weather events. The timing correlations people point to tend to fall apart when you actually map them properly.

The thing about political announcements is that there's always one coming. Press conferences, budget releases, policy statements - they're essentially continuous. If you anchor a blackout to any given week, you'll find something political nearby. That's not pattern recognition, that's apophenia doing what it does best.

Where I would push back is on the assumption that nothing unusual ever influences grid behaviour. There are documented cases of unusual electromagnetic spikes that precede unexplained events - some of which don't have clean institutional explanations. That's worth investigating properly.

But ". Blackout before announcement = deliberate suppression". Needs an actual mechanism, actual evidence, and ideally someone who isn't selling a newsletter.

What specific incidents are you referencing? Worth laying them out properly so people can actually evaluate them rather than just vibing with the pattern.
