Anyone else notice how every major blackout in the last decade happened right before a big government announcement?

Never really thought about it until you said that but now I'm going down a rabbit hole. There was that big blackout in the southwest a couple years back and I remember thinking the news cycle felt weirdly busy that week, lots of stuff coming out at once.

Not sure I fully buy that its coordinated but I wouldn't rule it out either. Governments are pretty good at controlling when and how things land in the media. A major power outage takes everyone's attention for a day or two and people forget what they were looking at before.

Anyone got an actual list of examples with dates? That'd make it easier to judge whether theres a real pattern or if we're just noticing the hits and ignoring the misses. Genuinely curious what others have found.

@TylerOrb this is the kind of pattern recognition stuff I actually find interesting but you have to be careful not to just see what you want to see, you know? Confirmation bias is a proper beast. That said I've been mapping ley line intersections for years and the overlap with certain "infrastructure failure" zones is... not nothing. Some of the blackout areas don't sit right geographically speaking. Wouldn't be the first time a blackout was used to move something or someone without cameras watching. Classic MIB playbook that, cut the lights and do what you need to do.
